I just signed up for this course offerd by the University of Joensuu in Finland. I don't know that it will ever amount to anything, since my multiple marriages disqualify me from serving in any liturgical role. But maybe someday I will be able to serve as a catechist.
The tuition is 370 Euros. I have been waiting three weeks to sign up. I suspected that the Euro would fall in value against the dollar. I was right. I saved a few dollars by waiting.

That's very cool. I look forward to reading a few interesing blogposts!
Also, regarding your liturgical issues... while it is controversial to point it out, Mtr PHILIP has been known to overlook such things, even in his presbyters.
I am very sorry your multiple marriages disqualify you from serving in any liturgical role. I have been told if my divorce is successful and I remarry my new husband will not be able to be ordained because I am divorced. Is this true? I can not find your phone number. Is there a link to your email anywhere so I can send it to you? There is a Finnish guy in our church. We sang the Finnish Christ has Risen,
Ian - because it is inexpensive, carries the credibility of the Orthodox Church, carries the credibility of the Finnish state, and is self-paced.
Huw - But I am a member of an OCA parish.
Olympiada - You can email us at Cyndikarnes at yahoo dot com
I have no words of wisdom about possible ordination, but this sounds like a wonderful educational adventure to embark on and I look forward to hearing about it.
Do you read Finnish? I know the Finnish Church puts out the wonderful book "These Truths We Hold" so I think you are in good hands.
And, perhaps, you'll get to go visit Finland!
In Christ,
Matt - you needn't always be :-) although when you say "liturgical" you certainly don't mean including the choir! Very liturgical, that.
