3rd Day of Christmas
In my family we have a tradition of hosting a party on December 27 (In the Orthodox Church aka the 3rd Day of Christmas aka Feast of St. Stephen). Today, the little boy and I began talking about what we are going to do at the party. (These kinds of things require much advance planning.) In our looking around for interesting little things we came across this episode of a Public Radio show called Pulse of the Planet.

How neat!
My youngest son's class was penpals with an Alaskan class last year, and there were several Orthodox kids. My son was the only Orthodox kid in his class, however.
So you're going to have your guests dive into a pile of frozen foods and wrestle for a hundred dollar bill?
!

Mimi - That sounds pretty neat. Is your son in a public school? Did he get a chance to explain the faith?
Doug - well, yeah. Except it will only be a $20 bill.
Yes he is, I think he explained it very slightly. I kept meaning to tell the teacher I could do a bit on Alaskan Orthodoxy, but kept chickening out.
