1. I don't know. Depends on what views.
2. No.
3. Probably false, depending on what counts as humanitarian idealism (good intentions?), but if they were h. idealists, so much the worse for them: Dostoevsky's Grand Inquisitor was the epitome of h. idealism. See this for example: http://www.chattablogs.com/hagioipateres/archives/013558.html
4. true, though I don't agree with everything it did.
5. d
6. a, mostly
7. 3
8. 4
9. Communism is based on wildly erroneous concepts of human nature, history, economy, theology, ethics, and just about whatever else you can think of. It is therefore unsurprising that communist governments have been responsible for much of the bloodshed and induced famine of the late century. As to Hollywood Communism: once the USSR was legally identified as an enemy, to offer aid and comfort to the agents of that country became an act of treason, serious enough to justify HUAC-style investigation. HUAC, the Truman administration, and McCarthy, in their excesses lacked more prudence than legal justification.

Female
31-50
1)No
2)Possibly. I don’t know enough about the Hollywood Ten to give an educated answer.
3)I don’t know.
4)False
5)D
6)A
7)Since I don’t think they were right to investigate in the first place, I would strongly think that it was an unfair sentence.
8)3 – Possibly
9)First I had to define it:
Communism (m-w.com)
1 a : a theory advocating elimination of private property b : a system in which goods are owned in common and are available to all as needed
2 capitalized a : a doctrine based on revolutionary Marxian socialism and Marxism-Leninism that was the official ideology of the U.S.S.R. b : a totalitarian system of government in which a single authoritarian party controls state-owned means of production c : a final stage of society in Marxist theory in which the state has withered away and economic goods are distributed equitably d : communist systems collectively

I think definition 1b is the only reasonable definition, and then only in Christ, within the Kingdom of Heaven. However, calling that communism or even an ideology would, I think, be incorrect. Christ’s disciples had all things in common, but not because of some ideology. Rather, what need had they for personal goods when they had the Creator of all things in their midst? There’s more here, but I’m no theologian. ;)

The other definitions of communism are flawed ideologies, which have never and will never succeed.
