Well, this is the first time in decades I have not had a Jack-o-lantern out on this night. All of my kids are adults now, Kathleen's two kids are with their dad tonight, but they are 18 years old in a few weeks so they are practically adults, too, and none of the kids in my neighborhood trick-or-treet in my neighborhood. (We've had a couple of shootings in the last week.) All of the kids in my current neighborhood go to my old neighborhood of Willow Glen for trick-or-treeting. I still have a bag of candy for them if they show up here but I, really don't expect any knocks on my door tonight.
My sister has had a tough year. A broken shoulder, back surgery, a month in a rebab facility, then back to the hospital because of pneumonia. She went home a few days ago. She still can't get around so I made her a lasagna today. It is big enough to last her and her husband a few days. I also made a lasagna that we'll take to church tomorrow.
Well, that is my Hallowe'een. I surely do miss having little kids.
