Beans and Holy Unction

Tonight for dinner we had beans. But not just any beans. We had GIANT BEANS FROM GREECE! Fr. Basil introduced me to them a couple of weeks ago. I love them. Sadly, no one else in the house loved them.

After dinner I took Basil on another mini-pilgrimage. Tonight we went to St. Stepen Orthodox Church in Campbell. They were doing Holy Unction. Much wonderfulness.

I have a jar of those beans on my shelf. I've eaten them before and like them a lot.

In our town the ROCOR church serves a service of General Unction the week before Holy Week, and they always invite our parish. Our priests serve along with the Russian priests. I've gone twice now and it's such an experience... so much grace in all that fragrant and holy oil flowing all over.
